You can do even more than you dream of!

Did you know that even your dreams might not be big enough? Do you know that we judge ourselves and dream of things that we want to do based on our own abilities and what we think that we are capable of?

Do you know that God looks at us a lot differently than we look at ourselves. We look at ourselves through our past record and through the lens of our habits and failings. We form an image of ourselves based on what people think of us and we pay attention to our friends and family and the people that are closest to us.

Do you know that if you were to think that you wanted to be the best well known preacher and writer in the world, to one of the best out there, that you might have to keep that to yourself? If you shared that with your family that know you, or your friends that know you best, they may accuse you of being a dreamer, delusional, or plain deceived. If you honestly thought that you could become one the of the most renowned speakers and authors in the world, after sharing it with those closest to you, and having them say you are crazy, you might become quite depressed and despondent and even give up on your dream.

Jesus spoke to this. He said that a prophet is not without honour except in his own home town and among his family. What He was saying here was that among strangers that don’t know anything about you, you will be treated with honour and respect but around the people that know you best you won’t be respected!

I fought with this for ten years in my home church where they said that they loved me and respected me, but for last two two years didn’t invite this prophet to preach from their pulpit. I used to say to Jesus that I needed to preach and get the experience with preaching if I was ever to become the well known speaker, that I had heard prophesied over my life so many times. I asked Him why my pastor wasn’t seeing my gift, wasn’t asking me to preach and encouraging me in my gift. ( I have 1500 videos on YouTube, 850 articles on the internet, and 14 books, so I can teach!)

Jesus kept on reminding me that the people that are closest to you don’t revere you as a true prophet and treat you with honour and to be honoured a prophet has to get out of his home town. He told me as powerful as He was, that his extraordinary radical gift of healing was almost completely shut down in his own home town because of the unbelief and lack of faith that the people that knew Him had. He kept on telling me that my church would not see my potential and that when I preach and do powerful things it will be amongst people that didn’t know me.

So when you have such big dreams and when you think you can be one of the greatest speakers in the world, and many people have proposed that you will be a prophet to the nations, do you give up on your dream or do keep on following the leading of the Holy Spirit and continue to take all the steps He is giving you and publishing six books a year?

I have not been reading a lot of the Bible in the last few years because people who taught me error used the Bible to support their error. People that were religious and legalistic taught me how to be that way for many years and used hundreds of verses to keep me convinced of it. Then I came out of that through hearing the message of grace and the pendulum swung too far the other way and soon I was listening and being taught error by people that had an extreme grace that said you didn’t even have to pay attention to what Jesus told us to do as His disciples. So because both camps taught me error and used multiple verses in the Bible to teach me that error, I got upset with the Bible for a few years.

Over a year ago, though Jesus had me read the book of Ephesians and study it for a time. I found and extraordinary verse in there, that really jumped off the page at me. It really spoke to me and so I have been pondering it and meditating on it for a long time, almost eighteen months. I have been chewing it and saying it to myself for a long time. Personally with a mark of 41% in English in High school, a dismal fail, I feel with my 15th book coming out in two weeks, I have already fulfilled it once.

But when I consider my dream of having my books well known and me becoming a famous speaker, I tend to trust this verse, the prophecies over my life and my own belief in myself more than what some friends and my former church I used to go have been showing me.

I think I can become great. I ask God if He can use me on the world stage as an international prophet, writer and speaker. So I think I can and I ask God if I can, and do you that I can even do more than that? Here is the verse that I have been meditating for eighteen months. Here is why I can do it: with God’s help by following the Holy Spirit’s leading:

Ephesians 3:20New King James Version (NKJV)

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
