Let us consider a few verses that I will be covering in this post. Read over them as they are my supporting verses for what I will say
Matthew 5:8New King James Version (NKJV)
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
John 14:19New King James Version (NKJV)
19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.
John 14:21New King James Version (NKJV)
21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
John 14:23New King James Version (NKJV)
23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
Matthew 28:18-20New King James Version (NKJV)
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Do you know what put hope in my heart that made me long to meet Jesus on earth in my life? I read a testimony of Arthur Blessitt and how he met Jesus one day while walking down near a lake. When he spoke with Jesus on earth and had spent enough time with him, he went home and knocked on his door. His wife answered the door took one look at his face shining with glory, and said, “You have been with Jesus” and promptly slammed the door in his face.
I learned two things in that story as a fourteen-year-old boy who read that some thirty-five years ago. I learned that your face can shine with visible light that may shock a person ( see Isaiah 60:1-6) and that it was possible to meet Jesus on earth.
Many years later I discovered that all the pure in heart can meet God. I thought that was okay if I could only get a pure heart. I heard it taught years later that that a pure heart had little to do with sin being in your life, but it has more to do with the fact that you were one to pursue Jesus with all that you had in you. ( Like David the murderer and adulterer) When I found out that I had a pure heart, as people prophesied that over me, my hopes were inflamed with meeting Jesus on earth.
Many people do not realize that well after Jesus had left the earth, and no one saw him walking the streets that Jesus still visited his disciples.
John 14:19New King James Version (NKJV)
19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.
Few people teach that it is possible to have such a life full of love for God and people that Jesus will come and manifest himself to you. One way to show that you understand Jesus, and you are walking in all that he taught is for you to to obey the commands of Jesus.
John 14:21New King James Version (NKJV)
21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
Do you know that Jesus had fifty things that he taught that we should do with our lives if we were to follow him. These things he taught in the sermon on the mount and in other places were his commands. So the disciples understood these as his commandments so between the last supper and his death, Jesus told his disciples with his last words, three times, that if they love him, then they need to obey his commands.
He died, rose again, taught them for forty days and then told them once again to teach people his commandments.
Matthew 28:18-20New King James Version (NKJV)
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Now you can notice here once again attached to the word to obey his commandments is the promise that he will be with them always even to the end of the age. We are living now in the end of the age. Do you know if you love God so much that you will obey what Jesus taught that God promises that Jesus and Himself can turn up at your place and have dinner with you?
John 14:23New King James Version (NKJV)
23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
Now many of you may scoff. God is talking about his Holy Spirit here coming to make his home with us. Why then does it say We and the subject matter before the We include Jesus talking about himself and the Father?
So what am I saying?
I am saying if you love Jesus obey him. John recorded three times in between the last supper and the death, that Jesus said, “if you love me obey me”
It seems that John has a lot to say about people who say that they love Jesus and don’t do what he commanded. He calls people who claim to be Christians and don’t obey Jesus liars!
1 John 2:4-6New King James Version (NKJV)
4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
There you have it. What is liar? A liar is someone who says something that is not true and knows it.
When we call ourselves a Christian, we are saying that we are a follower of Jesus. Well the way to follow Jesus is to do what he says and what he commanded.
And if we do what he commanded love is perfected in us. So much does love take hold of us as we walk out the commands that we begin to walk and act like Jesus himself. In fact John says if you really abide in Jesus then you will walk just as he walked.
1 John 2:5b-6
By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked
To date, I have met Jesus in visions on earth over two hundred times. To date I have met Jesus in the flesh five times. To date I have met God in visions on earth three times.
To date I have been to heaven about 30 times. In those times I have sat next the the Father in the throne room, I have worshipped in the throne room, I have met the children of heaven, and have seen many great things.
It is possible to meet Jesus on earth. It is possible to meet God on earth. It is possible to have an awareness of Jesus walking next to you every single day.
It is possible.
Are you ready to enter in and start to love Jesus in such a way that you search out his fifty commands and start to walk in them?
