Conversations with God- Endurance

God:

How are you today Matthew?

Matthew:

I have been in a funny place today. I have known that we were going to speak today but never really got around to it till now late in the afternoon. I have a funny feeling. I am kind of frustrated and anxious at the same time.

God:

Yes, I know how you are feeling. Today we are going to talk about something that you are very good at and that is endurance. You have suffered through a lot in your life and you have learned to endure.

Matthew:
Yes, sometimes, I have had more than I could cope with. I have been through some hard times. I am so happy that I had you in my life. I am so happy that I knew your son Jesus and that I knew that all things work together for good for those that love you and who are called according to your purpose (Romans 8:28)

God:

That verse has been good to you hasn’t it? It is like Paul wrote that in his letter to the Romans just so you could live on it and claim it in your life. It really is a key verse when we go toward trying to understand endurance. If you understand that verse and you believe it to be true in your life, then you can go through almost anything and still survive. You went through tremendous suffering and yet I still see you cry for the plights of other people that have a life worse then anything that you have seen.

Matthew:

What can I say? I am an emotional guy. It is easy to make me cry.

God:

I am also an emotional God. I don’t like to look upon suffering and hardship on earth. Some peoples lives make me weep. I guess people would do well to know that I see their plight and know that I care. I can’t always fix a problem or situation, that often needs a person on earth to do, but I do care about everyone that is suffering.

People need to learn how to endure. I remember your counselor telling you that endurance is your ability to press on against impossible odds. That really touched you to hear that. You remember I told you that you were going through a trial to teach you to endure. Friends of yours said that I would not say that to you and that I wouldn’t have a trial in your life to teach you endurance. But you asked your counselor if he believed I said that to you and he replied that I not only said that to you but to have endurance was a great thing to have more of.

I am so proud of you. I see how you sometimes suffer with your sleep patterns being out of order and you take it easily now and hardly even worry about it. We could never have you walking in your faith level that you walk in now if you didn’t learn to endure trials. You make me very proud.

Matthew:

It makes me happy to hear that I make you proud of me. What son wouldn’t want to make his Father in heaven proud?

God:

You are my son and my beloved. I love you just as much as I love Jesus. I know that it hard for you to hear. I know that it amazing. But it is true nonetheless. I love you as much as Jesus. You are my son and you make me proud.

Your books are going well. Conversations with God Book 1 is selling pretty well and people are coming to know that I can speak to the normal people on earth still. You are making people think it is possible for me to speak to them. They read what you write and they say to themselves that “If God speaks to him, he might speak to me.”

Do you know that simply turning one person onto the idea of speaking to me is a great thing? Do you know that just encouraging one person to take out a journal and dialogue with me is a great thing? And more than one person has already been encouraged from Book 1.

Aren’t you glad that you endured to make it to now? Aren’t you glad that you never went back to the world?

Matthew:

I am really glad I never went back to the world. The world had nothing for me. There is nothing in the world that interests me. Only doing what pleases you makes me happy.

I might seem really boring. But I find so much joy in living in my destiny and doing what I was born to do. I have had a lot to overcome. I believe you have healed me of my mental illness now but that doesn’t mean that I still don’t have issues.

Life is a process of going over one hurdle after another. More and more hurdles appear as I go through life. Life is not so easy and yet having you guys in my life; it is much more enjoyable.

God:

Have a good night tonight Matthew!
