Bowing out of Facebook arguments

Have you been party to a Facebook argument this year? Do you like them? Do you like to get going and does your pulse race as you wait for the person you are having an argument with to respond to your latest comment?

How often have you EVER seen a person change how they believe due to a Facebook argument? I would like to venture a guess that it rarely happens. The people are so heated up, and so sure of what they are saying that many do not even stop to consider what the other person is saying.

I know when I had a revelation of the grace message that a person that I dearly loved showed me a passage in a book that disagreed with my legalistic and religious thinking. It didn’t come from a Facebook post with someone promoting grace, it came from a person that was full of God’s love and grace and who honestly took the time to get to know me before she even tried to show me a better way.

Today I see people trying to promote grace with a really sarcastic attitude that is very condescending to anyone that does not believe like them. Honestly, I could never be converted to grace through their posts. Sure, I see people with religious posts and from time to time try and correct them, but soon enough many of them try and have an all out argument with me. That is the time, that I respectfully bow out of the conversation.

People who have issues with pride argue.

People who are humble don’t!

Please keep that in mind next time you are trying to convince someone of something on Facebook.
