HOW TO AVOID DECEPTION AROUND GIVING AND INSTEAD BE BLESSED BY GOD-

Warning- long post.

Many prophets and writers in the Bible have warned that there is going to be deceptive ministers of the Gospel in these last days. Jesus shared that many false prophets and teachers would arise in these last days. Peter shared that these ministers would entice you to give them to you, and lead you into practicing covetousness as they line their pockets with your money. Today, all through the church major ministers preach a deceptive and harmful message that says, give to them and God will pour out his blessings to you, and good hearted people like you are led into error and are robbed by them.

If you understand the true principles of Biblical giving, of the laws of sowing and reaping, when it comes to finances, then you would really prosper when you gave. The problem is, few people actually teach the truth, and the church has been so influenced by the lies by ministers of unrighteousness, wolves, that extort you, that most people have proven the popular message is wrong, and therefore have started to withhold their tithes and freewill giving. Because of this, the true Kingdom of God suffers.

It is true that some people can receive a ten-fold return on their giving, and yet this principle and blessing has conditions for it to manifest in a person’s life, and if these conditions are not met, then the tenfold return will NEVER MANIFEST.

I can testify personally to having an experience of  when I was supporting a ministry at the rate of $25 per month, I was receiving $250 per month back by the Lord through other people giving to me. This was long before I had my own ministry and the people that gave me had no reason to give to me except that they confessed that the Holy Spirit had told them to do so.

Firstly, I want to be very clear with you on this. This may be tough for you to hear. Any ministry that teaches that God wants to make you wealthy and rich, and who asserts that in order to get a good return you need to sow into good ground is a liar and setting you up to enter into a sinful type of life.

Here is what Paul had to say on the matter of desiring to be rich:

1 Timothy 6:6-10 New King James Version (NKJV)

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Did you read that? If you desire to be rich you WILL FALL into temptation!

For three years, I have not only had about $300 per week given to me by my government to live on, but the Lord has provided me at least $500 per week through my ministry. $500 per week is a good way to be blessed, however nearly 98% of that $500 gets spent on producing books that have NEVER ONCE have made me a profit. God prospers me, so that I can do the works of the ministry with that money that he supplies.

Anyone that preaches that God wants you to be rich and leading you into deception and error.

These false teachers, wolves, will say in order to get a tenfold return you have to first sow into good ground. Then they will share with you all the good work their ministry is doing, then they will assure you that their ministry is good ground and if you sow to them you will see these tenfold returns. They show you this lie, and prove to you that this prosperity gospel works they will boast of their 20 million dollar houses, their fine brand clothes, their luxury cars, and all sorts of wealth. They will seduce you and if you listen to their lies, and eventually try to put them into practice they will teach you the sin of coveting. Peter speaks of this. The teaching that you can desire to be rich and by sowing to them you will be is teaching you to be covetous.

2 Peter 2:1-4 New King James Version (NKJV)

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.

When you listen to them, they will exploit you. Their gospel does not work for you most times, it only seems to work for them.. It is a heresy and anyone teaching this, though they might have great Kingdom works, are in actuality false teachers and prophets, wolves in sheep’s clothing.

2 Peter 2:12-14 New King James Version (NKJV)

12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes,]carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, 14 having eyes full of [c]adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children.

Oh, they will share with you how good they are, and you will think that you are so special when you meet them at their book table and they shake your hand and sign your book. They are full of spiritual adultery serving mammon and using the name of Christ and his gospel so that they can live like a rock star. They are not only guilty of covetousness and not only use God to get rich like Balaam, they try to teach you that it is quite okay to serve God and love mammon (money and possessions) They won’t say it overtly but they, through their teaching will say that Jesus was wrong, and that you can actually serve two masters. They share that you can be really rich and really in a good place with God. This is how they speak evil of the things that they don’t understand.

Andrew Wommack in his book, “Financial Stewardship” teaches that if you give to God with a motive of getting back from God, in other words you selfishly give to God, you will not get a return from God. He teaches that, and not only teaches it but gives a very convincing testimony in his book to prove it beyond doubt. I encourage you to buy that book. It is only when you give, with no desire to get a return that you will be blessed by God.

Let me repeat this. It is a very important truth. If your motive for giving is so that you will be blessed, you have a selfish motive and God will not bless a covetousness attitude.

Michael Van Vlymen in his book called, “Supernatural Provision: Learning to Walk in Greater Levels of Stewardship and Responsibility and Letting Go of Unbiblical Beliefs.” also teaches that you will only be blessed with a return when you gave to who the Holy Spirit tells you to give to, and you are obedient to give the exact amount the Holy Spirit tells you to give. You are not to give out of compulsion, or the begging of a minister, but only when the Holy Spirit commands, or asks you to give. It is only in the occasions when you are led by the Holy Spirit to give, that God will give you a return. Your giving must be done in love for the ministry and obedience to the Holy Spirit. If you do it that way, the Lord will bless you for your seed.

I encourage you to read both the book by Andrew Wommack, and by Michael Van Vlymen that I have shared with you. Spend some money and get educated in truth.

It is a fact that Satan can prosper people in order to make them his slave. Almost all famous actors and musicians who make a lot of money, have personally signed their names in blood to Satan. Yes, that is right, they use a pen, with real blood in it and sign their name! Satan himself promised Jesus the whole world if he would just bow down to him. If he tempted Jesus in this way, you can be sure he will use riches to bind a person to himself. Just because a minister of the gospel is very wealthy is no indication that the blessings and favor of God are upon them, in fact it is more evidence that Satan is using them. The prosperity gospel is a lie  and heresy and those that preach it, if they do not repent and turn away from it, no matter how many millions of people they affect with their ministry they will die in their sins and go to hell for eternity. The people who practice what they teach, who become lukewarm, will also go to hell.

True prosperity, is having enough to live in a comfortable way and yet having an abundance of money to sow into the Kingdom and share with the poor. Paul writes this:

1 Timothy 6:17-19 New King James Version (NKJV)

17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

So if you desired to be rich, and you actually achieved it, and became a millionaire, you should be rich in good works, so that the foundation you build from those massive good works, will assure you of eternal life.

Oh, and for your interests, when over 3 billion people in the world live on less than two dollars, a day, even a person on welfare, like me, in the West, are the rich that this verse refers to. If you are not living the way that Paul commands above, which many of you are not, then your eternal life, as much as you think is not assured, according to that verse. You have to build a good foundation with your money.

There are popular teachers like Kat Kerr, to give an example, that continue to make a doctrine out of one single verse in the Bible. I can’t find the verse reference in ten minutes of searching, but it says something like “the riches of the wicked will be laid up for the righteous.” She preaches time and time again, that God wants to give you a business idea, or give you wealth and he is going to bring about this great wealth transfer from the people that are not saved to the people that are. The problem with this, is that number one, if people desire to be rich, like Paul says, and what I quoted, they will more than likely fall into deception, and secondly, if the people are not already storing up a good foundation by massive giving already, they are not the righteous that are going to receive wealth. Sadly, people who are not familiar with scriptures regarding money and Biblical stewardship, are totally unaware that what Kat Kerr is teaching her followers s not the whole truth.

If you have made a habit of tithing and giving and are constantly being led by God to give and told where to give by the Holy Spirit, then you will start to qualify yourself for true wealth. The Lord will put you through many, many tests indeed, however, sometimes having you give all of your money away. He will test you and test you so that he knows that you are radically obedient and that you will never be able to fall away through him giving you true wealth.

Think about it. Who would the Lord give the most money to, a person that does not tithe with what he gets now, or a person who not only tithes 10% every week, but who has consistently been obedient and been used to bless multiple people and ministries as desperate answer to prayer for them?

Those of you who desire to be rich, so that you can be used to prosper the kingdom in a mighty way, you first need to start to give in a major way. If you cannot hear the Holy Spirit, you need to be able to hear from him, in order to give in the way that allows the Lord to bless you as per Michael Van Vlymen’s wisdom in his book, that was aforementioned.

Adam Houge, Praying Medic and Myself all have books that can teach you how to hear from God.

In closing let me be clear with you. Any person teaching that God wants you to be rich is dubious and teaching contrary to the verse I quoted by Paul. Any person teaching that you can be rich and still be loved by God, is many times subtly teaching that Jesus was wrong when he said that you cannot serve two masters. If that teacher goes on to share what good works that they are doing, as a reason to make the point that you need to sow into good ground and they have good ground, then they are deceiving you and enticing you to sow for the wrong reasons. And any preacher that promises a tenfold return on your money if you sow into their good ground is a false teacher or prophet, apostle, evangelist or pastor. They are wolves. I could name a lot of really popular people right now, to further prove my point, but it would be most helpful if you could identify them yourself. Stop watching these people and stop supporting them with your money.

Please understand me. It is possible to  be very wealthy and be in the will of God and have an intimate relationship with him, but those that are in this position, if you knew them well enough to ask, would tell you that they got there, by Gods favor on their life, the close walk of obedience, and the fact that they give crazy amounts of money to God and his kingdom. It is also true that those that learn how to be proper and wise stewards of the Lord’s resources, can and will prosper and come into a fortune, however you will find that sometimes up to 90% of their income will be being recycled each year into true kingdom ministries that the Holy Spirit has specifically told them to give support to.

Here is something that they don’t tell you very clearly. God prospers people so that he can use them to sow into dire needs. He raises up millionaires and billionaires, to serve him, however as wealthy as some of them are, the majority of money that finances the true gospel of the Lord comes from little no bodies who aren’t rich in any term of the word, but are faithful givers.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

Download those two books I quoted, and don’t just read them but repent, change your heart, and start to put what is written into practice.
